Up for grabs is a lovely example of the popular Heuer Carrera, reference 2447T (T designated the tachymeter dial). These 1960s Carrera remain immensely collectible, and draw similar design and mechanical comparisons to the Rolex Daytona, using the same Valjoux 72 movement. This example is a 1st execution, with a serial of 79xxx, dating to the late 1960s.
The condition on this Carrera is excellent. The case is unpolished and sharp. The dial is in great condition, with virtually no wear, and has a beautiful pop to the dial, due to the red lettering in the tachy scale. The original tritium lume is still present on the dial and hands, with nice and full lume plots.
This watch comes to us out of the private collection of an important and popular collector, known for collecting top-notch watches.
