Up for grabs is what seems to be an innocuous Rolex Date, Reference 1500…until you look closer! This particular Date model was co-signed by the famous Venezuelan retailer, Sepico Y Laino, with its original caseback engraving in-tact (most of them were polished or worn off over the years). Further, the watch comes complete with its original Rolex box and Chronometer certificate, with matching movement number, dated to 1965.
This Rolex Date is in excellent vintage condition. The case appears unpolished, with minor wear. The dial is in excellent condition, with no major wear, and retailer’s signature still crisp and legible. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color. Finally, the watch comes equipped on a Rolex C&I Rivet band, dated to 1975 (likely changed at some point in the watch’s life), with 12 full links and no stretch.
