Rolex “6239 FAP” Daytona

$77,500.00

1 in stock

Description

Offered here is an exceptional example of Rolex Daytona, reference 6239, circa 1966, made for the Peruvian Air Force.  The Peruvian Air Force (Fuerza Aerea del Perú) ordered Daytonas throughout the 1960s and 1970s, stamped “FUERZA AEREA DEL PERÚ” (or FAP for short) around the edge on the caseback (and matching serial stamped on the inside of the caseback).  This Daytona features a lovely “panda” dial (white with black registers).

This Daytona is in excellent vintage condition. The case has been lightly polished in the past, but retains thick and even lugs. The dial is in beautiful condition, with virtually no wear or damage. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color.

The watch comes equipped on a Rolex Swiss folded-link 7835/19 bracelet with 357 endlinks, dated to 1971, and has 12 full links with light stretch.
