Up for grabs is an incredibly rare and popular Rolex triple-date chronograph, nicknamed the “Jean-Claude Killy”, bearing the Reference 6036, circa 1953-1954. Named after champion sportsman and Rolex ambassador Jean-Claude Killy, the triple-date chronograph was the model favored and worn by the famous alpine ski racer. The triple-date chronograph was made in four references, with the 6036 being the third of the four. The present example is fitted with a “solo” dial (meaning, only the word “Rolex” is present on the top half of the dial, excluding “Oyster Perpetual”, which is often found underneath), which was likely installed during a service by Rolex.
This exceptional JCK chronograph is in beautiful condition, with a well-preserved case, likely never polished, and near-perfect dial, with only the most minimal of wear. The watch comes fitted on its original Swiss Rivet bracelet, dated to 1956, and has 12 full links and only light stretch.
