Offered here is a beautiful and well-preserved Patek Philippe Calatrava, Ref. 3498, produced circa 1960s, housed in 18kt white gold. This reference is dubbed the “Ultra Thin” due to its thin profile, fitting seamlessly under a shirt cuff!
This Patek Philippe Calatrava is in excellent vintage condition. The case does not show any signs of polishing, maintaining its original lug definition, and with crisp and visible hallmarks. The dial is unrestored, which is a rarity for a Patek this age in and of itself, and remains in excellent condition.
The watch has an engraving on the outside of the caseback, showing that it was likely given as a gift, commemorating the 1964 Copa Mexico championship soccer match, given to the manager for Club America, Alejandro Scopelli Casanova, who himself was a player for the Argentina national team, who himself scored a goal in the semi-final match of the inaugural World Cup in 1930 versus the USA. (Thanks to BC for his amazing research on this!)
