Patek Philippe “1593P Diamond-Marker” Hourglass

$75,000.00

1 in stock

Description

Up for grabs is a very rare and elegant wristwatch made by Patek Philippe, produced circa 1951, the reference 1593 in platinum.  The reference 1593, nicknamed the Hourglass due to its crystal, was introduced in 1944, and produced for approximately 20 years, with very few examples made in platinum — and only a handful known to the market with factory diamond markers.  Measuring 41.5mm long, this model wears extremely modern for a watch produced during this era.  This Patek Philippe Hourglass is accompanied by an Extract of the Archives from Patek, confirming sale of this watch originally in November of 1951.

This Patek Philippe Hourglass is in excellent vintage condition. The case does not appear to be polished, and if it was, it was done very lightly.  Further, the dial is extremely well-preserved, with virtually no wear, and seemingly unrestored/cleaned in the past.  The watch is fitted on a generic white gold bracelet, likely produced during the 1950s as well, and will fit an approximate 7.25″ wrist.
