Omega made this “Calatrava”-style Suveran watch in many different references through the 1940s and 1950s, arguably one of their most popular and collectible time-only designs of all time. One the biggest and rarest models bearing 30T2-family caliber by Omega is the Reference 2808-1. While most of the watches offered by Omega back in the late 40s and the early 50s measured anywhere from 30-35mm, with some “jumbo” 38mm references, the reference 2808-1 measures a staggering 40 mm without a crown. This particular example is in great vintage condition. The case appears unpolished with minimal wear. The dial is in good condition, with only light wear, commiserate with the age of the watch, and is very attractive. The watch comes equipped on an Omega leather strap and buckle.
