Offered here is a Rolex Datejust, reference 17013, originally sold in 1980, under the “Oysterquartz” line, made in two-tone stainless steel and gold. These quartz watches were produced in the 1980s during the “quartz crisis”, and have risen in popularity as of late as an interesting footnote in horological history. This particular Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust comes complete with its original Rolex box and “puncheed” Guarantee Certificate. The watch itself is in “like new old stock” condition, clearly not used or worn much; the case is razor sharp and unpolished, still showing the original bevels/lines, and retaining its original caseback sticker. Further, the watch has a perfect dial, and also maintaining all of its original tritium lume on both dial and hands, which has aged to a golden yellow color. The watch has 12 full-links and no stretch.
