Up for grabs is a lovely Rolex Seadweller, nicknamed the “Great White”, produced circa 1979 and subsequently sold in 1980, in beautiful condition. The Sea-Dweller was designed for diving under extreme depths, and were thus fitted with a helium escape valve on the left-hand side of the case, which was used to release pressure as it built up under water. This particular example was recently sold by the family of the original owner, and comes complete with its original Rolex box, Warranty Certificate and matching hangtag.
This Rolex “Great White” Sea-Dweller is in great vintage condition. The case is unpolished and sharp, with original beveled edges. The dial is in excellent condition, with no wear, marks, chips etc. The original tritium lume is still present on both hands and dial, aged to a nice yellow color. The insert is original and period correct for this reference, and a matching pearl was recently installed. The watch comes fitted on an original Rolex Oyster flip-lock 93150/585 bracelet, with 10 full links and no stretch.
