Up for grabs is an attractive example of the popular Rolex “Red Sub” Submariner, Reference 1680. Bearing a serial of 2.6 million, this watch dates the watch to 1971, and has a “feet first” “MK4” dial.
The watch itself is in great condition. The case shows thick and even lugs, with original beveled edges still visible, and does not appear to have been polished prior. The dial is beautiful, with no chips, scratches, marks, etc. The original tritium lume is still present in the dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color. Further, the original MK2 “fat font” bezel insert has aged to a lovely and natural faded dark navy blue color. The watch comes on a Rolex folded-link 9315 bracelet with 382 endlinks, and has 11 full links with light stretch.
