Up for grabs is a very rare and extremely beautiful complicated “H40” Perpetual Calendar housed in 18kt white gold from Roger Dubuis, produced in the early days of the company, before they were acquired by Richemont. These early “pre-Richemont” pieces have exploded in popularity, as collectors have increasingly grown to appreciate the beautifully crafted and decorated watches from the much adorned former Patek Philippe watchmaker, Roger Dubuis. This particular watch was made in a series of 28 pieces over a one year span, and this particular H40 was numbered 01 or 28 for this year of production (circa 2001). The watch remains in excellent condition, showing light wear from use, but remains unpolished; the original black leather strap does show some wear from use. This particular example comes complete as a full-set with its original Roger Dubuis box, warranty papers, cards, and all accompanying documents and booklets as it left the boutique. This is a true rarity as production was very low, and these watches have become a cherished indie gem amongst collectors.
