Universal Geneve Polerouter Date

SOLD

Description

The Universal Geneve Polerouter was introduced in the 1950s to provide flight crews with automatic precision wrist-watches that were resistent against the strong magnetic field of the polar region while flying from Europe to the USA.

It was designed by the one and only, Gerald Genta. You know, the guy who designed the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the Patek Phillipe Nautilus, to name a few. Well, this was his first design.

The Polerouter offered here is in excellent condition, with a clean silver dial. The dial is beautiful, with only minor blemishing to the left edges of the dial. The lume on the plots and hands are in tact and look amazing. The case appears unpolished and very sharp. The original crystal is still in tact, with the “U” stamp in the middle. These watches have been climbing in price, and this is one of the nicest examples we’ve been able to bring to market.
