Gallet “Jim Clark” MultiChron 12

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a popular model from the brand Gallet, the MultiChron 12, nicknamed the “Jim Clark”, as worn by the famous racecar driver the year that he won the Indianapolis 500 in 1965.  James “Jim” Clark was a British Formula One racing driver from Scotland; he was considered the dominant driver of his era, winning two World Championships in 1963 and 1965. Jim Clark was tragically killed in a racing accident in Hockenheim, Germany in 1968. At the time of his death, he had won more Grand Prix races (25) and achieved more Grand Prix pole positions (33) than any other driver.

The example offered today is in excellent vintage condition.  The case is unpolished and very sharp, with beautifully beveled edges.  The dial is in excellent condition, with no damage or wear visible; likewise, the original tritium lume remains on both dial and hands, in superb condition.
