Audemars Piguet “Precision” Watch

SOLD

Description

Offered here is an exceptionally rare Audemars Piguet time-only “Precision”, produced in 1943, and sold in 1944. Featuring AP’s Calibre 13VZAS, which was a movement used as the base movement for many chronographs of AP and Patek Philippe, but modified for high precision timekeeping.  This watch bears resemblance to the famous “JB Champion Observatory” Patek Philippe watch, which was made specifically for JB Champion in 1948, and uses the same movement as the AP Precision.  Only a handful of these watches are known to have survived over the years, and this one comes fitted in a steel case, with champagne dial with applied markers.

This AP Precision watch is in good vintage condition, with an unpolished case, and an attractive dial, that shows some damage and scratches.
